Lesson Plan Instructions
TAH NC 2010-2011 participants will be developing five lesson plans throughout the year. The lesson plans should cover the time period 1800 to 1877. While it would be great if you could incorporate a resource from one of our workshops, we understand that it is not always possible. Try to create lessons that are most relevant to your teaching needs and situation. A Lesson Plan Rubric and a Lesson Plan Template are provided above for you to download.
**All lesson plans will be posted to our website for other teachers to use.

How to Save Your Lesson Plans
When saving your lesson plans, please use the following file name format: Name.Title.Month.doc
For example, if you are turning in a lesson on John Brown for the September deadline, your file name would be: FirstNameLastName.JohnBrown.September.doc
**Note: If you are using MS Word 2007 or later do not save your lesson plans as .docx documents. To save your document as a .doc format:
- Click the circular “Office Button” in the top left-hand corner of Word
- Click “Save As”
- Under “Save As Type” select “Word 97-2003 Document”
- Click “Save”
